My images reflect my love of ancient structures, landscapes and infrared.
Growing up in England I quickly became interested in ancient ruins, and frequently drove by Stonehenge on my way to college on the rugged Cornish coast. During these college years I was lucky enough to live in Smugglers Cottage built in 1449.
As a teenager, with my American cousin, we explored the Cascades, Rockies, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Glacier NP and more during the numerous backpacking adventures. I then set off to travel around the world, ending up again in America.
During my extensive career in spectrometry and advanced imaging I developed a special interest in reflected ultraviolet, infrared and luminescence imaging. This subsequently led to the initial release of www.BeyondVisible.com in 2005 which catered to the technical side of UV and fluorescence techniques.
Although I like to photograph a diverse range of subjects, I find photographing ancient structures in B&W infrared to be the most rewarding. InfraredScape reflects a move towards the more artistic side of my photography.
